On 12/4/2020 during the last service on my 2015 Acura Rdx, the mechanic noticed badly rusted front drive axle shafts and warned me of the possibility of their breaking on the road. I just noticed that Honda is in the process of issuing a recall for the exact same problem. However, 2015 Rdx is not a part of that recall. 20V769 and 20V770 are the recall numbers for the related issue. I believe that Honda should also recall 2015 Rdx since the their drive shaft axles are also rusting.

When accelerating or braking, the car lurches forward. It occurs when even pressure is applied and is most noticeable when applying brakes and vehicle is at 1000 rpms and around 20mph. Often the driver must press hard on the brakes in order to come to complete stop and avoid hitting vehicle in front. This is a recurring issue. Brakes were replaced at 14,000 miles in 7/2016 by dealership and owner feels brakes may have prematurely worn due to the braking issue.

2015 Acura Rdx the acceleration is very touchy in that slight accelerator pressure generates an unexpected increase in speed. The vehicle also tends to hesitate when accelerating while the transmission is simultaneously shifting gears. Also, when braking and applying slight yet constant pressure to the brake, the brakes often grabbed more abruptly. When coasting/slowing down, the transmission had a noticeable deceleration when the vehicle was down shifting. The feel was similar to down shifting of a manual transmission. It was more noticeable at 20-30 mph. The issues occurred when driving in heavy/congested traffic.
