We leased a new RDX in the beginning of December 2018. We've had the car for barely 4 months and already the windshield has chipped 3 times from little pebbles on the highway. I know rock chips are externally caused damage, but the rate at which this is happening seems to indicate a problem. In close to 30 combined years of owning Hondas driving the same roads, we've never had a windshield chip.
While talking to the repair guy at the auto glass shop, he says they are seeing Acuras at a disproportionate rate with windshield damage.
I don't know if there is a design problem with the windshield or a manufacturing problem, but there definitely seems to be a durability issue with the Acura windshields.
