Michelin recently discontinued the manufacturing of the pax system worldwide and will no longer offer it. There is also special training, certifications and equipment required to install or repair pax tires. The absence of adequate repair facilities and pax system stock has resulted in consumers having to travel long distances and/or being required to wait days to obtain repair to damaged tires, replacement tires and/or the pax systems themselves. The problems that consumers are experiencing with the pax system likely will worsen now that Michelin has abandoned the pax system. What is the american Honda motor company"S recommended alternative for pax system equipped vehicle owners that need new tires"

Honda/Michelin pax tires (no flat) are design for only about 20-30K miles. This information was not disclosed at the time of the purchase of my vehicle. They have deceived the consumer that this is a quality product. In addition, these tires are flawed and expensive to replace and your car can't be de-pax. If they are not replaced every two years it can cause serious performance problems which can lead to unnecessary crashes. As a concerned consumer about this product and many others we would like a recall on this product asap! Honda and Michelin are aware of this defect, however they are not doing anything but passing the buck to one another.

The contact owns a 2006 Acura Rl. While driving 70 mph, the contact drove over a pothole and nothing happened. He then drove over another pothole and the tire deflated. The contact refilled the tire with air. The vehicle was taken to a tire company, which noticed a bubble on the tire and refilled it with air. The contact was informed that the rim was cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they replaced the tire and rim. The dealer also stated that the bubble in the tire and the cracked rim may have been caused by debris and/or potholes. No tire information was available. The current mileage was 5,821 and failure mileage was 5,500.
