RSX Type S 4 cyld

  • Manual transmission
  • 29,100 miles

purchased car used with 27k miles, car was in excellent shape appeared to burn oil. Drove it 1200 miles. Changed oil with recommended oil. driving it to work at 55mph it started to knock before I had a chance to pull over and stop it blew up. Acura will NOT cover anything. They are blaming me or the previous owner. The engine completely came apart. I am in the middle of a fight. I will be hiring a lawyer. Acura sucks!!!

Hello, my name is Chris and I'm 24. I purchased a band new 2005 Acura RSX last years around February, I was saving up for that car ever since I was 20, I drove it for about 3 months and I had several problems with it. I had both my suspension replaced and I needed my wheels aligned & steering wheel only after a few months of driving. I have babied this car from day 1 and I never thought this would have happened to me, One day i got in my car and I heard a tapping noise coming from my engine, it didn't sound like anything too major so I kept driving. The next day, It was louder and I started to get worried, So I asked some of my friends some questions and what not to see if this was normal. I heard from the grape vine that it was possible for my engine to knock from low oil, so needless to say I checked my oil level but without realizing I was on a sloped driveway. It wasn't reading properly but at the time I didn't realize it, So I went to put 2 more quarts of oil into my engine. Of course, it didn't do anything and I went to the Acura Dealer the day after, and they told me my engine rods are bent and pistons were damaged and it was all my fault that the oil had destroyed my engine and the warranty wasn't going to cover it. So, I got a lawyer immediately after they told me it wasn't covered and tried to get a Lemon Law to work in my favor. Well, it's been a year and I'm still in the same boat they still haven't done anything and I'm losing money and my life is at a stand still. Now the reason I'm sending you this email is, I've spoke to several mechanics and they all tell me that there's no way that the oil could have damaged the engine in short a short span of time with the extra added oil. I am furious for the way they treated me and still are treating me, they have made my experience with Honda/Acura company the worst ever, I my family members, friends, and neighbors will never purchase, lease, or drive a Honda vehicle ever.
