1999 Acura TL 50,000 miles. Rearview mirror exploded liquid. Noticed 5 days ago that the mirror was dark. 4 days ago noticed a clear "bubble" in the dark liquid. I thought it was just condensation or moisture and it would go away. Yesterday it exploded leaving black spattering on leather seats and center console, as well as on personal items. I got some in my mouth accidentally, and it left numbness and bad taste. Researched online and apparently contains toxic chemicals? have coincidentally had headache/stomach pain all week but am reluctant to say "yes, definitely from this". scared of inhaling vapor. Left pitted damage marks on plastic, destroyed sunglasses, will not come off leather. I am contacting Acura dealer today, however online chat rooms seem to say Acura and magna donnelly (mirror mfgr) not replacing? I want the msds on the mirror fluid!!!

The rearview mirror of 1999-2003 Acura TL should be recall due to the fact that once it failed to work properly (which is my case at this time, 99 TL) it may explode at any time and could cause more problems leading from personal injury to deatly accident if while on driving. It's already happen to some Acura's owner recently. Acura seems to ignore this problem and so the manufacture of review mirror. Its dripping fluid is already damaged part of my property, that's a warning sign to me, my concern is more about its explosion which is next. Thanks for reading my complaint.

Rearview mirror contains chemicals that have leaked out of its housing. This has caused the mirror to become distorted and difficult to see out of. The chemicals are a potential hazardous substance. I had to replace the mirror.
