I have a problem in automatic transmission of my Acura TL 2000 that I bought 2years ago. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes it dont change the gear. It seems like slipped. Upon search I found out that this car was recalled for fixing this problem as it is manufacturing fault. But the owner didn't take it may be because it is registered in uae and Acura don't have much appearance here. I want to know if Acura can do something now at dealership of Honda in uae.

I purchased the car listed above in February 2014. Due to transmission problems, I went to trade this car in and purchase a newer one. I was then informed by the salesman that there was a discrepancy with the mileage on the car I was trading in. The history report showed my car at 281,762 miles in July of 2013. At the time I was trading the car in it had a mileage of 161,787. When I was sold the car in February of 2014 the mileage was listed at approximately 140,000 miles. There was no notice on the car indicating an engine swap or odometer swap. The car was sold at a price of $5500 dollars due to the outstanding mileage for that year. I now believe this to be a common practice at this car lot as I did not trade the car in and returned it back to the car lot.

American Honda to recall vehicles to repair ignition interlocks certain 1997 to 2002 Honda and Acura vehicles affected torrance, calif., February 1, 2005 -- american Honda motor co., Inc. Today announced a voluntary recall of certain Honda and Acura models to repair ignition switch interlocks. The interlock is intended to prevent removal of the ignition key unless the shift lever is placed in the "park" position. Some interlock levers may be improperly dimensioned, which could allow the operator to switch the ignition off and remove the key without putting the shift lever in the "park" position. The recall involves approximately 486,000 automatic transmission equipped vehicles - manual transmission equipped vehicles are not affected. Included in the recall are certain 1999 to 2002 Honda Accord models and all 1997 to 2001 Prelude models. Also included in the recall are certain 1999 to 2000 Acura TL sedans. American Honda will contact owners of affected vehicles when parts are available and ask them to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer to be repaired free of charge. Prior to the vehicle being repaired, drivers should follow the parking procedure in the owner's manual: Apply the parking brake and shift the transmission to the "park" position before exiting the vehicle. Details regarding mailing dates and affected vehicles will be available on the Honda and Acura web sites on February 4, 2005. Owners will be able to access this information by registering at the "owner link" section of www.Honda.com or www.Acura.com and entering the 17-digit vehicle identification number. Customers may also contact their local Honda or Acura dealer, or call Honda customer service at (800) 999-1009 or Acura customer service at (800) 382-2238. There have been eleven incidents resulting in minor property damage related to this issue.

Able to turn off the vehicle and remove the key without the car being in park. This is a big safety concern since I have two teenage drivers! I see there is a recall of some 2000 Acura Tls for the interlock operation of the ignition switch but my VIN number is not included, yet I have this problem. The dealer and Acura customer care say that my car is not covered under the recall. Why?
