For the money for this vehicle, I was really surprised when the engine started to sound the way it does. I will go back and take a video of it and post it to youtube.
I have had some Acura dealers tell me the lifters are stuck - at $200 per lifter and 16 are in the car - and that is just for the parts. I'm pretty sure when they get in there, there will be gaskets and other fun stuff they will recommend changing.
I just would not have expected this car to have these problems. I experience some documented problems with the vehicle as well - but let me be clear: The combination of sound, performance and fun is the reason I bought this car. The sound is gone now and the fun is really impacted because the performance is not what it was.
No reason for cussin' and fussin', I have had at least 1 Acura in our family for over 16 years - I think this is the last one!
