I purchased this 2008 Acura TSX about 4 years ago. I have been complaining about the brakes from day 1. When you need to stop the car you have to slow it down by pumping the brakes. If I happen to hit a pothole there was a distinct feeling of the brakes slipping when you hit the brakes.
I went to Acura. They inspected the brakes and said there was no problem. I took the car to my mechanic who is a certified Honda mechanic and he said the same. Every time I took the car in, I had them check the brakes and each time they said the brakes were fine and that they could not duplicate the problem.
I got used to slowing my car down ahead of time. I don't speed so I never had a problem, but I did tell my husband, " I hope I don't have to stop this car immediately one day." That day came on January 31, 2019. Traffic stopped suddenly in front of me and when I hit my brakes the car kept on going. I slammed into the car in front of me and that driver said I pushed her into the car that had stopped in front of her.
My car was totaled. The airbag deployed. It was terrifying. Thank God I escaped only with bruised ribs and a sprained thumb. Has Acura acknowledged this defect?
