TSX 2.4L

I bought my 2010 Acura TSX used with 86,000 miles on it last year. When it started getting cold in my area I would start the car and hear a rattle sound for like 2 seconds and then it goes away. Now I'm hearing it every time I turn on my car after having it sit for over 7 hours.

I searched this problem online and found out that it has been happening to a lot of Honda cars and that the cause is the VTC actuator. After doing some more digging I found out that Honda/Acura knows about this problem and yet still no recalls for it till this day. So I took my car to the Acura dealership and they told me that they know its a problem and that it would cost me $650 to get it fixed. Problem is, people online who've had this problem fixed by Honda/Acura have said that after a couple of months the noise comes back.

Honda doesn't fix the part but replace it with a new one that will eventually go bad again. After doing some more research, i find out that the faulty VTC can stretch your timing chain leading to some serious damage to your engine in the future. I'm officially done with Honda/Acura. I bought my TSX thinking that it would be one of the most reliable cars on the planet, but boy was I wrong.
