COOLING SYSTEM LEAK: yesterday while driving to work a homeless man mentioned my car smelled like it was " running hot". when i got home i checked my coolant and saw that ALL of it was gone. i began to pour more coolant in but it just went right down immediately. while looking for a leak i noticed that the coolant flange ( radiator hose) between the inter cooler ( right behind the grill) that splits off towards the coolant reservoir and the engine, it was leaking profusely. luckily i had an issue with it before specifically where the coolant reservoir plugs into the hose. it had broken off while replacing a headlight. quick fix later and it was fine. however now the section the inter cooler plugs into his leaking and splattering coolant onto the other parts inside the engine bay. two clamps and a push lock is all that needs to be removed to take the hose out. currently waiting on the final lock to be pulled off because its on their quite well and hard to remove. ALSO WORTH MENTIONING 1: the bleeder screw, in the 2004 year model and some others it was switched from a METAL screw to a PLASTIC one, the plastic one has in quite a few cars had the upper half break off. this causes the coolant to fizz bubble and pop out of the bleeder screws location, leaving a mess in the engine bay, this may have contributed to the leak as the screw works to relieve pressure, and either relieving too much or too little can damage the cooling system. ALSO WORTH MENTIONING 2: please oh please do not use your normal store bought coolant. just use G12 coolant, the pink or purple colored coolant. it is by far much better at everything coolant is used for. and protects your car from wear much much better as well. using normal coolant such as peaks ( god its the worst) can cause your heads to go bad, rust tarnish or in general deteriorate. Some mechanics might tell you its just fine but DO NOT USE NORMAL COOLANT make sure its the G12. and if you already have normal coolant in it. FLUSH IT OUT AND REPLACE IT. i can not even explain the importance of using the g12 coolant. do not think it is OK to just add g12 coolant or for that matter other coolants and mix them in your car. being made from different substances they can combine and gel up, and IT WILL cause build ups clogs and blocks in your cooling system very easily. THIS ALSO MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE COOLING SYSTEM FAILURE AS I WAS USING NORMAL GREEN COOLANT PURCHASED AT A GAS STATION. ALSO DEALERSHIPS WILL VOID WARRANTY IF YOU USED COOLANT OTHER THEN G12 IN A CAR THAT MENTIONS OR REQUIRES G12.

Problem happened under warranty first, they replaced some hoses, issue returned within 10k miles, shortly after warranty expired, dealership told me to go away. Audi does not stand by their products. Car was losing a 1/4 gallon of coolant per day, and began overheating
