I bought a used Audi A4 Quattro 2.0 in November 2021. I immediately drove it to see family (round trip 590 miles) and had no issues. That was literally my first time driving it. Upon returning, within a few days, it said my car was low on oil and needed oil. I have never in my life heard of a car that is not very old or damaged requiring the owner to put oil in their car, so I thought oh no... oil leak.

There was no evidence anywhere in the driveway of a leak and so I took to local mechanic that works on foreign cars. He said that this is a well known issue with that model car and suggested that I put the oil in if light comes on and come in a couple of times a year to do an oil consumption (or maybe oil pressure?) test and that was just something that I inherited with that model car. I did my own research because I was highly upset that I had an Audi that you might drive by and see me putting oil in like it was a beater car when I just paid $13,000 for it and it was supposed to be a "luxury" vehicle. How ridiculous does that look and sound?

During my research, I quickly found that it could cause more serious issues with my car, including engine failure. I found out that it was currently in Court for a class action lawsuit for the exact issue and so I had hope that it would result in a recall and Audi would fix the issues. I stopped driving the car completely and tried to wait for the case to hopefully settle quickly and I could get my car fixed instead of possibly driving it and the engine becoming damaged. I ALSO SAW THAT AUDI HAD ALREADY HAD TO SETTLE A LAWSUIT FOR THE CARS UP TO 2012 AND STILL IGNORED THE PROBLEM AND DENIED THAT THERE WAS ISSUE AND ALLOWED PEOPLE TO KEEP PURCHASING THESE CARS NOT KNOWING THEY HAD MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUE. That's when I first started to see how shady Audi was.

The lawsuit was sitting stagnant and so I began to drive the car around town in March, but only every so often. Maybe once or twice a week. This is where issue #1 collides with another issue that I had no idea about either that caused engine damage and was also in litigation (for a second time as well might I add). I will discuss that issue in my next description as the website requests,

I currently have a 2013 Audi A4, and I was getting the minimum oil light less than 800 miles after an oil change. It got to the point where I was only 270 miles after an oil change before the minimum oil light came on and I took it to get repaired. I had a stage 3 fix done, replacement engine, and the minimum oil light is still coming up. The amount of oil the car consumes is just absurd. I thought this issue was fixed after 2012. That's why I picked the 2013 model, and it still consumes too much oil. 1 quart in less than 800 miles is not normal at all.

Audi Canada has refused to acknowledge this as a problem they will address because it is not 2009-2011.

If you are thinking of buying a 2013 Audi A4, be warned that not all cars were fixed in 2012-2013! Audi has offered $0 towards the repair costs.
