Center display lcd panel in instrument cluster fades out particularly in warm weather and the information it provides cannot be read. Since some of the information shown in this display is important for safe operation of vehicle the failure of the display to be adequately legible is a safety hazard.

I own a 2001 Audi A6 quattro. The driver information system has faded to a point N which it is no longer readable. Since all of the diagnostic information if displayed through this system I am afraid damage to my vehicle may occur.

2001 Audi A6. Left headlight assembly wires shorted against frame and ignited a fire. Car was parked and off. Headlight switch in off position. Car was inspected for electrical leaks the week prior.

The consumer's car caught on fire. Prior to the fire there was an electrical system recall (04V1233000) which could result in a fire, this recall was complete prior to the fire. While driving the car it started to smoke heavily and smoke came through the vents. The consumer saw fire in the vents on the drivers side. The consumer pulled of the road and stopped the car and call 911. There were no warning lights or prior warning to this fire. Insurance company is investigating and do not have the report. Coolant bottle leaked, third brake light bulb blew out.
