So I picked up the car from a website called let go, guy seemed like he was at his end with the car so I bought it thinking it’s a quick fix, no problem. I got it home and realized there was a knocking sound so I checked it out. It took me a minute to figure out the problem. Luckily I had a mechanic across the street. The first thing he said was nice car but there a pain in the ass to work on, so I get the cam cover off and the boot was missing from the chain tensioner. I asked him if it was a big problem and he said yeah, cus it already sounds like it’s not running right.

I’d have to take the front bumper off and do a timing job which can lead to doing the other side of the engine - it makes no since to do one and not the other so it’s cost me about 1200 and that’s just one side with a new tensioner, boots gaskets, cam chain. This was not an easy fix, and to top it off it looks like they just did the serpentine belt also.
