2002 Audi A6 has a problem with interior flooding due to rainy weather and it causes the transmission module to short out. The consumer stated during heavy rain, the water from the windshield runoff does not drain fast enough through the drain hole, which is located under the battery. The drain is well hidden and can not be inspected visually or cleaned easily. The water backs up into the passenger compartment through the fresh air intake. The transmission module which is located directly under the passengers feet had to be replaced twice, because of the flooding problem. The mechanic stated he took out the rubber grommet from the drain therefore making the drain opening much larger to alleviate any future problem.
