After months of ownership, the radio starts cutting out every 30 seconds, and the telephone menu is inaccessible from the MMI. Very annoying, but was very easily fixed with about 30 minutes of work and a $15 optical fibre loop from Amazon. The procedure was pretty straightforward; remove the drivers seat with 4 bolts (using a special multi-spline set), unconnect battery, remove kick panel, unscrew dead pedal, and pull up the carpet. Under the carpet, there's a black container sealed with 4(?) Clips, somewhat annoying to unclip but once it's open, you'll see the module. Unplug the optical connector and install the loop on the wire. To test, connect the battery, and turn on the radio. If it plays continuously without a sudden break, then you've done it! Just reverse the procedure and enjoy the great sound system without interruption.
