I'm having the same problem covered under recall 01V259000 for year 2000 Audi A8S, but I'm told my car is "outside the build date" covered. I have a large fuel vapor leak at the fuel filler neck / expansion tank, which was the subject of the recall, but I called Audi and they are denying coverage of my car. I cannot smog the car without this being fixed, and the car is leaking fuel vapors into the atmosphere, causing pollution, and risking a possible fire.
