Q5 Prestige 2L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,000 miles

Bought the car used from a dealer and the check engine light came on within an hour or so. Trouble code was lack of boost. I started digging and found the linkage on the turbo charger was loose causing the waste gate to not close properly and build up boost pressure. I pulled the turbo and with a bit of ingenuity was able to tighten the linkage to allow the valve to close properly. I'm guessing my fix will last about 25-30K miles but it was free and I probably won't keep the car for that long anyway.

Q5 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

2012 Audi CPO. CAEB engine. Check engine light at 65k miles showing Turbo under boost. Waste gate is worn and leaking. Turbo needed a total replacement. Dealer wanted $3,500 to replace. No warranty. I replaced myself with OEM parts for $1,100. Difficult job. Should not have to spend like this on a car with low miles.
