Known issue. Audi dealership advised me to change the chain and tensioner. No more Audi for me!

Q5 Prestige Plus 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,875 miles

When I purchased the car 13 months ago, I asked if the timing tensioner and chains have been changed? I was given a Service Work Order showing all the work done 1 month prior to me purchasing the Audi Q5 and what was covered at the time when the work was completed and parts shown with OEM Audi Part #'s. They failed within 5,000 miles and 13 months. The parts were NOT made correctly resulting in Tragic Engine failure and the Auto just quit when I was pulling out into traffic. Luckily I was not involved in an accident.

Q5 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,206 miles

I'm just disgusted!!! I pay for an extended warranty and they pay a percentage for the repairs.

Also why isn't this recall covered? I have a 2013 Audi Q5 and the timing chain went out just as I reached 100,000 miles.
