Q5

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,000 miles

Driving through the desert, 5 hours into a 6 hour trip, and the car would stop accelerating. RPM's dropped to zero, car lost all engine power. Would regain RPM's and accelerate for a short period and stop again. Car finally died, had to have it towed, was 117* (yes degree's) outside. Dealer indicated it was vapor lock, never heard of this on turbo charged vehicle and one manufactured after 1990 !! Extremely disappointed in a newer, under 40K mileage car with this issue, husband ready to sell and refuses to take on road trips now.
