The contact owns a 2017 Audi Q5. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally high whistling pitch sound coming from the vehicle. The contact had to add additional oil to the engine. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer (Audi lakeland, 1215 griffin rd, lakeland, fl 33805, 863-284-0880) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy.
