bought 2020 Audi Q5 Quatro Prestige - top of the line - can't get any better. LOVED everything about the car, until the oil light came on at just over 4,000 miles. WHAT??!! Called dealership - who said it seemed unusual, but could be "break in consumption" and to monitor it. I added the required full quart of specified oil as per the service tech - and went about my biz. At just over 7,000 miles, oil light came on AGAIN. Called dealer, again - and was told to add another quart, and they would look at it at the first service (10K). in the meantime I noticed the engine also started making a "lifter sound" on cold start. I reported this as well. Took the car up to the dealership for the 10k mile service at the one year mark (which was actually only 8K miles). Oh, and I also got Audi USA involved - using mostly social media, to which they responded very quickly! The tech heard the lifter sound the next morning on cold start too. Long story short - they heard the lifer noise, and in fact sent "three video to Audi engineers" look for direction. Over a month passed, and they were told I could pick it up and should "monitor the noise" Regarding the oil consumption, they started Phase 1 of "oil consumption test" and returned the car to me. I am just over 10k miles now (2k miles since I picked it up) and the oil level shows it's down about 65%. I emailed AudiUSA and requested a buy back. They sent the paper work to determine (I guess the value??), and I received an email from the GM dealership today offering me a "trade assistance program" ... that's where we're currently at. I don't know if I'll go down that path - as much as I love this car, there is a long time trend of oil consumption issues, and the 2.0T engine that's in this car is problematic across SEVERAL other brands. Stay tuned.. any thoughts or comments are welcome and encouraged.

If you’re thinking about buying a Certified Pre-Owned Audi, let me save you from a nightmare. I purchased a CPO Audi Q5 from Audi Dominion in San Antonio, and it has been an absolute disaster from day one.
Within weeks of buying it, major issues surfaced. It spent over 2.5 months rotting in their service center because the techs couldn’t figure out what was wrong. After finally getting it back, it broke down AGAIN in less than three weeks. The service manager, Modja, and even the shop foreman, John, are well aware this vehicle is defective they just can't fix it because it’s a piece of junk that should have never been certified, let alone sold.
To make matters worse, the CARFAX clearly shows the first owner dumped it within a year, which Audi Dominion either missed or purposely ignored so they could slap a "Certified" sticker on it and gouge someone at full premium price. That someone was me.
Audi America’s response? Useless. Matthew Robinet, their so-called Southern Region Case Manager, has been a waste of oxygen hiding behind templated emails and endless delays instead of stepping up and making this right. Audi Dominion’s GM, Rick Cavender, clearly doesn’t care either just another suit hiding while customers get screwed.
Meanwhile, when my friend had an issue with his Cadillac CTS, Ken Batchelor and Esther Luna at Sewell Cadillac San Antonio immediately took action, escalated it to corporate, and FIXED the problem with no games, no stonewalling, no excuses. Real customer service. Real leadership. Cadillac showed what standing behind your brand looks like. Audi showed me what running from your failures looks like.
If Audi wants to fact-check anything I said here I dare them. The proof is in their own paperwork.
Bottom line: Audi sold me garbage, lied about its condition, and now refuses to take accountability. The Audi brand has become nothing but empty promises wrapped in a luxury badge. Buyer beware: if you buy from Audi Dominion or trust Audi America, prepare to be abandoned the moment something goes wrong.
