Net of it- I own a 2007 Audi Q7 with just 120K miles. Audi has replaced the MMI amp 2x under warranty since January 2018, however, it's also crippled itself twice in 30 months. Warranty is just 12 months.

My issue with Audi, and they don't seem to appreciate or even care, is that if I received two faulty MMI amps at $3,000 each, in the matter of months, it MUST mean that many, many other Q7 owners have received same. It must be systemic. The odds of one customer receiving two back to back MMI amps that are faulty, and that don't even last 24 months each, should be a warning to Audi that something in their manufacturing is materially bad or even fraudulent.

Can you imagine being required to buy a new $3,000 MMI amp every 24 months? VW/Audi experienced the world's scorn now for the last several years at cheating/hiding criminal activity re emissions fraud. I'm thinking, based on my experience and with Audi now formally refusing to warranty the next MMI amp, is just another serious fraudulent action by VW/Audi.

To be transparent, I've asked both our local Indianapolis, IN, Audi dealer and Audi America. Audi America has now formally refused to fix. They understand they are now manufacturing faulty MMI amps. They are admitting they expect Q7 owners to buy new $3,000 MMI amps every 24 months, or less.
