I always service the car at Audi dealership for 10k oil change and inspections. The car started demanding more oil after 85k miles. All the sudden after 10k oil service, I noticed it was asking oil every 2k miles for first couple interval and it has increased to point asking oil every 1k miles. I had car checked for leaks twice at dealership thinking maybe there was oil leak that wasn't being detected. It seems like it's over consumption issue with oil. I got this on my previous Audi 2011 Q4, which they had recall for after the fact. Same issue exist on this particular car, I did not get it tested for oil consumption issue, as test is not covered and cost is outrageous. Also if they in fact find oil consumption being the issue, the approximate cost for repair was quoted as 10-18k, which is not doable. I hope Audi comes up with recall, I would love to know how I can approve this issue?

I have been complaining about excessive oil use for a while. The response from the dealer is "well it has a lot of miles, old cars use oil". They gave the car an oil change, I picked it up on a Monday and by Friday the oil low message appeared. I called and reported the problem and suggested possibly they shorted me on oil which they denied. I added a quart and a week later, it was a quart low again. No leaks, just oil consumption. No help from Audi.

We purchased a 2017 Q7 with low mileage. At around 75k miles the engine started consuming oil every 1,200 miles, when previously it never required an oil change before the regularly scheduled service. The dealer always said "that is 'in spec'". Then, some months later, when we were driving cross-country for Thanksgiving, the engine made a major concussive noise and we lost power while driving on the freeway at around 70mph. It was winter and we had the entire family in the car.
The dealership said it was the fuel injectors, and then they said it was the louvers that control air flow over the engine. We've paid over $10k in repair costs. Engine continues to burn oil at around every 1000 miles. Recently had to change the spark plugs due to fouling. I began researching this oil consumption online and found out this is a known issue with Audi Q7, and there are several class action lawsuits. I now assume the spark plug fouling is due to oil in the piston chamber. I would like to know if there is any class action suit that already covers our car.
