I purchased a car December 27, 2019 for my daughter. She drove it for maybe 4 days (Jan 2-5, 2020)and started feeling sick. After research it is was proven to be carbon monoxide (I have video). She went to urgent care where she received over an hour of oxygen and blood work. I called the dealer and was told to take the car to get it checked out but wasn't offered any compensation for the work needed to figure out the cause. At that point I hired an attorney to try to get the dealer to take the car back and issue a refund. I also contacted the Illinois attorney general to report the dealership. Although the carbon monoxide is the major issue there's also a light on in the dashboard and a message to service the car soon. The light indicator is Audi magnetic ride which means there's a malfunction in the vehicle's damping. The chassis needs to be inspected immediately. When I asked the mgr about it he said the car needed windshield wiper fluid. With all these problems I can't get tags because the car won't pass inspection. This all took place in the first week of owning the car. My attorney sent a demand letter of a refund and the dealer responded offering to pay for repairs. My attorney advised me to email them to try to get the cost of the diagnostic test. I requested for them to make the check directly to the company that will do the test as well as the repair. I have yet to get a response. I don't feel safe having my daughter driving this car and the car hasn't been driven due to the danger it has and will cause. Please let me know if you can help me. I'm not sure what to do next. I can't afford an attorney and also pay the car note. My attorney was hired to write the letter but now I guess I'll have to hire one for representation.
