There were class action lawsuits for earlier model years with the same Audi A4 B8 engine. The timing chain tensioner fails. It doesn't work right, the timing becomes off and damage to the engine is damn near inevitable. Took it to my local shop, they tried to diagnose some high pressure fuel bs attributing it to the high pressure fuel pump. Dropped 1400 on repairs for that and the issue came back. It was the damn timing chain tensioner.

Audi says it's been updated and fixed. But after taking it to the dealership, dropping thousands of dollars to keep this overengineered heap running at only 62k miles... There are P0016 codes popping up when I go to start the car months after the work had been completed. Timing issues again keeping the car from starting. The dealership says they will throw parts at it then just wait and see if the issue persists. The past issues that have plagued generations of the Audi 2.0L engines have not been fixed and will only lead to more premature engine failures. Bandaid fixes for longstanding issues. Just hoping not to get stranded again before I can send this car onto the next unsuspecting victim.
