So all auto manufacturers are turning to this stop/start tech to turn off the engine at stop lights to save fuel, well BMW seems to have really fallen behind in refinement....Driving along with myself, a girlfriend of mine and my husband we stopped at the light before my neighborhood and the engine sharply stopped sending a shudder through the car we all kept chatting and thought nothing of it, the light was quite long so keeping my foot on the brake the whole time to keep the engine off we sat there. Right before the light changed the engine roared back into life as if I floored the gas, shaking the whole car enough to make my girlfriend shriek, she thought we were just rear-ended. BMW has yet to duplicate the issue and denies that there is any problem with its systems.
