This POS suddenly started out with a rattle, then bad rods, and now major oil leaks. Yes we service it regularly (routine maintenance) and our mechanic does check under the hood and/or body for problems which at the last alignment there wasn't anything wrong. The engine is gone. Oh and did I mention that we had to replace the struts? And no I am not hard on the car either nor do I take it on back country roads. I can't afford to replace the engine and have wondered is it even worth replacing? Going to a BMW dealer will cost anywhere from $6 to $8 grand. I am devastated because this was my dream car. Bought it used in 2013 with only 90,000 miles (mostly highway). Now I am left without a car and am trying to find out how much this car is worth if I part it out. NEVER will I own another BMW. With all of the complaints I have read on here with similar issues, BMW needs to make it right and pay to have these engines replaced. I mean what moron automotive maker would put aluminum bolts on a high performance engine and use plastic for an oil pan?
