The contact owns a 2006 BMW 325. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag sensor was defective, causing the air bag to deactivate with a passenger occupying the seat. The dealer repaired the front passenger seat sensor mat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 08V384000 (air bags:frontal) recall range. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 58,105. Updated 06/06/2012

Front seat passenger seat occupancy sensor failed. Most 2006 BMW 3 series were recalled for this issue. Our car was not included in the recall but had the identical problem. I believe my car should have been included in the recall.

The contact owns a 2006 BMW 325I. Upon starting the vehicle the contact noticed that the airbag light had appeared on the dashboard. The vehicle was taking to the dealership where the contact was informed that the airbag sensor in the passenger side front seat needed to be replaced. There were no prior warnings and the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 71000 and the current mileage was 75000.
