Front Seat Passenger Side Seatbelt warning indicator activates when no person is in passenger seat. Airbag warning light illuminates even when there is a passenger in the seat. I see numerous complaints about the same/similar issues in your data base, but seemingly no resolution or recall. My car is a convertible. I note from other complaints on your website that a related recall was initiated for my year make model but it did not apply to convertible version of this model. That is irresponsible and unacceptable.

The front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor (OC3) mat has failed in my car. BMW extended the warranty on the E90 sedan and E91 wagon version of the 2007 328I but not the E93 convertible (which I have) the seat components are identical on all 3 model versions of that year. Why is the safety of E93 passengers less important than the passengers in the E90 and E91 when they share the same sensor? repair cost is $1,200 for a sensor BMW knows will fail. I want the 2007 E93 to be included in the extended warranty si B01 09

My passenger airbag sensor light for the seat keeps going on I've had this reset twice and it just keeps coming back on and now it does not go off. I was told there was a recall on this about 4 years ago it obviously wasn't fixed.. I was driving this last time when the light came on.

For over a year now the airbag light on the dashboard has been going on and off. Originally, it was only turning on when I had a passenger in the front seat. Now it turns on with or without a person so I'm starting to think that the drivers side is malfunctioning too. In additional the seatbelt light is turning on too now. This is very frustrating. I talked to the dealership and they indicated that it is the airbag and seat sensors that have malfunctioned. Each to fix is over $500. They also indicated that this is a common problem for owners and to wait for a supposably recall letter. However, that was a year ago and I now have the airbag and seatbelt light going off. I've also come across many BMW forums (owners) talking about their frustration with these same issues. It's surprising that the dealerships acknowledge the issue but yet nothing is being resolved. There has to be a remedy for this annoyance and lack of acknowledgement by BMW. If anything there has to be some repercussions on BMW's part since the consumers are having to deal with these problem for what seems to be years now.

The front passenger occupancy sensor in the seat mat has malfunctioned which produces a fault in the passive restraint system preventing the passenger side air bag from deploying in an event of an accident. This malfunction occurs when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street, on a highway, and when turning. There is no damage or excessive wear and tear to the passenger seat. The passenger seat was used normally and as intended by the manufacturer. I believe the seat mat was not designed to withstand normal usage of people sitting on it. Over time the sensor in the seat mat failed and poses a serious safety issue for the vehicle's front passenger since the air bag may not deploy during a collision.

Front passenger seat occupant detection mat. My 2007 BMW 328xi airbag light came on so I took it to the dealer and they told me there was a recall on my model car from 2006 up, but that my VIN# is not part of that recall even though all symptom and issue was the same. I think this should be included as the sensor mat is the same issue as noted in this recall us NHTSA campaign id:13V564000

The front seat occupant protection mat in the 2007 BMW 328xi is displayed on my dash instrumentation for over a year.in the event of a crash the front passenger air bag could be deactivated resulting in personal injury. I looked up the recalls on this vehicle and it indicated that the model was recalled. I called BMW customer relations to inquire about the recall and the representative informed me that my vehicle VIN number was not part of the recall. I understand that numerous BMW owners have made a similar complaint about their vehicle and recalls are usually initiated in this manner. Regardless of the production time that my vehicle was made, my vehicle has the same defect as the other vehicles and should be replaced by BMW.

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 328xi. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the passenger restraint failure light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the diagnosis was the result of the seat sensor mat failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was offered the part for free, but the contact would have to pay for the repairs. The contact was aware of a recall relating to the failure, but was notified from the manufacturer that the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact also stated that the failure light illuminated continuously. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

On a very cold day, I got into my car, and turned on the seat heater on the drivers side of my X3. I smelled something burning and the side of my waist felt hot as if I was on fire. I realized that it must be the seat heater so I immediately turned it off. I stopped my car, got out and noticed my coat had been burnt. I noticed a burned hole on the side of my seat, in which was the cause of my coat catching fire.

Passenger restraint malfunction. NHTSA campaign number 13V564000. My vehicle matches the criteria exactly. Sport seats. Yet BMW claims it is not applicable to VIN. A simple internet search shows a flood of people having the exact same issue yet they are all being denied by BMW even though their vehicles fit the exact profile of the recall.

Passenger seat sensor failed (code 93C3), disabling potential airbag deployment. Apparently this particular VIN is not included in the current recall for this vehicle. Please expand this recall. BMW has refused to fix the problem under the recall, so we paid nearly $1,200 to replace the faulty OC3 mat.

When I was driving and at the stop light, when I was about to go and the air bags came on and the sound ding, ding, ding, and the air bags light came on the dash? when I take it to my local shop and let them run OB2 scanner and it came up on the OB2 scanner it was the passenger side air bags mat sensor.

I own a BMW 3 series 2007 that I purchased 3 years ago with a dealer. Six weeks ago a dash board light came on with a message "pass restraint system malfunction". a detailed message says "fault in passenger-restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt-force limiter. Continue to wear the safety belt. Have the system checked by the nearest BMW center". I have searched this online and it seems BMW 3 and 5 series cards manufactured in 2003 - 2008 have this issue. It is a safety related issue that BMW should recall and fix immediately.

The passenger side occupancy sensor is a known problem and I believe that the warranty extension has not covered all affected vehicles. My BMW 2007 328 convertible has the identical problem as identified below. I have repaired it and it has continued to malfunction numerous times since, while driving and while stopped, creating a safety issue for anyone in the passenger side should there be an accident. I believe this faulty part must have been used in my 2007 328 convertible. August 2008 -- BMW is recalling 200,000 my 2006 3 series (sport seat), my 2004-2006 5 series (standard and sport seat), and my 2004-2006 X3 passenger vehicles. A fatigue failure of the front passenger seat occupant detection mat can occur. If this happens, the front passenger air bags, with the exception of the head protection system, will be deactivated and the air bag warning lamp as well as the passenger air bag "on-off" lamp will be illuminated. In this situation the front passenger air bags will not deploy even if a sufficiently severe accident would occur and occupant protection provided by the system would not be possible. BMW will also extend the warranty on these vehicles to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417. BMW is extending the warranty to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit to the following vehicles: My 2006 6-series, 3-series (standard seat), my 2004-2005 Z4, my 2004-2006 7-series, my 2006 X5, and my 2004-2006 5-series (comfort seat). Under the extended warranty program, the occupant detection mat in a vehicle that experiences this specific issue will be replaced at no charge to the customer. This recall was the subject of an engineering analysis, EA08-001, conducted by the Office Of Defects Investigation. 08V384.

I purchased my BMW in germany!!! there was a recall for 2006 (I drive a 2007) models of this vehicle for the passenger seat occupancy sensor mat in the passenger seat. When this mat becomes defective, it disables airbag systems in the vehicles. This has been a known problem since 2008 (when the recall was issued), however these cars were produced from 2006-2008+ before the recall was issued. The recall only covers 2006 models which is absolutely ridiculous. If the same exact vehicle continues to be produced with the same defective part that have the same problem, but you only cover one year of it being produced when there were three, what good is that? why is it that I have to drive around in a car that has a known defective airbag system because of the defective detection mat and bet on my luck that I don't get in a serious accident and be caught with no air bags for safety. This is a serious problem...
