Front Seat Passenger Side Seatbelt warning indicator activates when no person is in passenger seat. Airbag warning light illuminates even when there is a passenger in the seat. I see numerous complaints about the same/similar issues in your data base, but seemingly no resolution or recall. My car is a convertible. I note from other complaints on your website that a related recall was initiated for my year make model but it did not apply to convertible version of this model. That is irresponsible and unacceptable.

Airbag lights keep going off, saying "fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner, or belt force limiter. Continue to wear a seat belt. Please contact the nearest BMW center." Or "function of the airbag, belt tensioners, and belt force limiters faulty. Ensure the seat belt is fastened despite the fault. Have the problem checked by the nearest BMW service center". these lights come on everytime the car is started, dealerships cannot figure it out, and any attempt to clear the code does not work.

The car has a short draining battery all the dash lights came on the blower moter smelt like fire when turned on. Scan tool wont connect to obd2 says no communication air bags restraint lights came on. I beleive your recalls were not done and cause a massive failure that would be considered dangerous conditions to operate vehicle under.

Received a recall notice for a blower motor wiring issue (17V-676) and an extension in limited warranty for the supplemental restraint system. BMW North America said they could not see the vehicle in there system and could not initiate repairs until it was. I purchased the vehicle in Tennessee on 3/23/16, but saw in the carfax report that it was originally purchased overseas.

For over a year now the airbag light on the dashboard has been going on and off. Originally, it was only turning on when I had a passenger in the front seat. Now it turns on with or without a person so I'm starting to think that the drivers side is malfunctioning too. In additional the seatbelt light is turning on too now. This is very frustrating. I talked to the dealership and they indicated that it is the airbag and seat sensors that have malfunctioned. Each to fix is over $500. They also indicated that this is a common problem for owners and to wait for a supposably recall letter. However, that was a year ago and I now have the airbag and seatbelt light going off. I've also come across many BMW forums (owners) talking about their frustration with these same issues. It's surprising that the dealerships acknowledge the issue but yet nothing is being resolved. There has to be a remedy for this annoyance and lack of acknowledgement by BMW. If anything there has to be some repercussions on BMW's part since the consumers are having to deal with these problem for what seems to be years now.

The front passenger occupancy sensor in the seat mat has malfunctioned which produces a fault in the passive restraint system preventing the passenger side air bag from deploying in an event of an accident. This malfunction occurs when the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street, on a highway, and when turning. There is no damage or excessive wear and tear to the passenger seat. The passenger seat was used normally and as intended by the manufacturer. I believe the seat mat was not designed to withstand normal usage of people sitting on it. Over time the sensor in the seat mat failed and poses a serious safety issue for the vehicle's front passenger since the air bag may not deploy during a collision.

Passenger seat detection mat not working. Seat has been relatively empty fpr years faulty product.. dangerous for a passenger when I have one. Air bag may not go off in an accident due to the faulty mat detection I feel BMW should be held accountable for this. They say my car is not covered due to they only cover certain VIN's for that year..

Left work at 4:30pm on 01/06/2016, as we turned out of parking lot my 2007 BMW 328I just died in mid traffic. This occurence happened twice before but stalled multiple time on way back home. On the 6th of Jan, the car began to overheat and burning of battery smell. Car was towed as id codes were checked and all signs have pointed to system failure. Upon further review, 6 open recalls was researched using multiple VIN report sites paid and free including bmwusa.com/safety recall. We were then told to contact the BMW consumer and we were told that if there is no warranty due to past milage, recalls were not obligated by BMW consumer. I have already contacted fabbrini law office here in Chicago regarding our federal rights in being in a safe car. How many links do we need to post in which stalling and electrical problems have been noted on bmws own company website. We simply ask that BMW consumer llc listen to this complaint like the many others who are being put in unsafe vehicles and we ask that you apply your three prong rule regarding safety hazards such as these that warrant a refund with deappreciation added, replacement of vehicle or simply repair the recalls that have been noted in the last decade affecting more than millions who are loyal to your product. We intially had a 2005 BMW 325I that had recalls and we were not helped then and traded vehicles for yet another BMW with the hopes of better luck.

This inquiry is regarding NHTSA campaign number: 13V564000 and associated recall subject: Front seat occupant protection mat. Vehicle VIN# KP35910 was excluded from the recall despite meeting the qualification criteria for this recall. Malfunction of the passenger restraint system was diagnosed by BMW of seattle on 06/17/2013. Particularly BMW of seattle stated the following: "passenger seat occupancy detector connected battery charger and performed system test found sensor faulty. Seat occupancy sensor faulty. Evidence report of the issue diagnostic is attached to this email communication. Failed restraint system in the vehicle VIN# KP35910 inadvertently deactivated the front passenger air bag that now in the event of a crash increases the risk of personal injury. Manufacturer should take full responsibility in remedying this manufacturer's defect that pose great safety risk to vehicles occupants. Because vehicle VIN# KP35910 meets the recall criteria of other vehicles in the recall category and it exhibits exactly the same defects with the passenger restraint system that is subject of the recall, BMW northwest must include VIN# KP35910 into recall and repair the defective seat occupancy sensor.
