Attention: BMW customer relations on, Saturday, 01/02/2016, at approximately 6:30pm my wife and I were driving on the fort hamilton pkwy in brooklyn, NY in my BMW 328I convertible. While driving at 55 miles per hour my car suddenly stop completely in the middle to traffic. In order to exit off the highway safely, I allowed the car to roll to reduce speed then use the hand brake it to stop the car completely at the nearest exit, ext # 5. after exiting I called the towing company. It appeared that this incident was the result a fuel pump failure on my 2008 BMW 328xi which according to the mechanic burnt the control module which caused the engine to shut down completely. Fuel tank failure is a hazardous condition and given the fact that a fuel pump failure results in an immediate loss of engine power, power steering, and power brakes and a potential design flaw. Due to this fuel tank failure my wife and I live were placed in danger. I called BMW customer relations. I informed them of what had happened and I expressed my concern for the safety of my wife and my life and explained the cause of the problem. The representative I spoke to today, 01/07/15, informed me that I should've gotten a warning light on the dash board and stated she could not give me any additional information unless the car was present. I informed her that at the time the car broke down their dealership was closed and I was forced to have it towed to G & J service auto repair shop located at 198 28th street, New York, NY 11232. She stated that there was nothing further she could do or assistance she could give without the car being present. A fuel pump is an integral part of any car. Given the responsibility of literally pumping a vehicle's fuel from its tank to the engine, a malfunctioning fuel pump will always lead to a total disaster. Driver's need to be aware of this common problem

My brakes failed. I was at a stoplight on a side street. With 3 other cars in front of me, the light turned green and I proceeded to step on the gas pedal. As I picked up speed, the cars in front of me started to brake as there were pedestrians and other traffic. I went to apply my brakes and the car did not slow down or stop. I vered to the right to avoid rear-ending the car in front of me and started to pump my brake pedal. It still was not slowing the car. I noticed the brake pedal felt hard as I tried to press it down. I applied the emergency brake as I moved off the road and onto the shoulder. I had the car towed to the dealership where I was told the vacuum pump failed. They did check the brake line, brake fluids and noted there were no leaks. The vacuum pump just failed with no warning. No indicator or warning light came on to warn me of any emergency or safety issue. This is in a 2008 BMW 328I with only 54000 miles.

In may of 2012, with the vehicle displaying approximately 15, 228 miles, the warning light for the antilock braking systems (ABS) became activated and remains to this day. BMW dealership service department inspected the vehicle and concluded a new ABS system was needed, and recommended I not drive the vehicle in its current condition. However, they would not incur the cost because the vehicle was out of warranty.

My name is ? and I'm having a serious problem getting my car fixed by the BMW dealership specifically the one located at Edison, NJ. I've also experienced the brakes not working (2) when the car has been driven in bad weather, I.e. snow and rain. Back in April (4/11/2013) BMW corporation a letter stating that if the above problem and other problems mentioned in there letter was evident, I needed to stop driving immediately and have the car serviced, which I did. Well the problem subsided for about a month then started up again (the problem is my car's dash board while driving will go completely or as you'll see in the attachment partially blank on me while I'm driving. When it goes completely blank the car shutters as if it wants to turn off). I wasn't able to make it back to the dealership until around 6/10/2013 to complain that the issue was still happening. On or around the 6/10/2013 date this same tech ran a diagnostic on my car (which I have the copy of). To make a very long story short I returned to the Edison location today 7/17/2013 and text the same attachment to [xxx] members of the BMW management/service team, to my amazement I was told they couldn't find a problem, even though management agreed that via the picture their was a problem. At this point what will it take to find the problem listed in the above attachment? death!!!!!!!...... there is a brake and electrical problem with my car. Just in case anyone wants to make the assumption that in some way I'm trying to get over, please review my payment history, I pay for my car in advance. This is ridiculous!!!! I'm fearful to drive in bad weather, and I'm fearful that in the mist of getting driving direction from my car's gps it's going to black out on me, leaving me in the middle of now-where. Thank god the times it has blanked out, I've been able to figure out where to go. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
