Cluster malfunction, one morning after a snowstorm I started the car and all lights on dash and gauges started to malfunction on and off. I took it to the dealer that dealership said the cluster is bad the rdc control unit. TPMS, battery and kombi wiring. And ask for a real high price to repair. After I take it to a few local BMW shops and everyone is asking me if I got the recalls done but only one recall of three is available to fix. Some thinks it's water damages and BMW didn't check the car properly.

I received initial notice of important safety recall from BMW November 2017, #1 no. 17V-676 blower motor wiring, and #2 no. 17V-683 PCV valve heater. The notice said "remedy unavailable" in both cases. It is now April 2018 and when I go onto the NHTSA site I still get that the remedy is not available. I feel this is a case of the BMW center being "unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable period of time, " and am therefore informing you of this issue.

BMW recall. My car was in the parking lot of my employment. I went out to my car - the entire inside of the car was filled with smoke and soot. The passenger side dashboard, under the glove box and the glove box had melted onto the floor board. Also burning the carpet and passenger door panel. I called BMW of american on wed. 3/21/18 and filed a form regarding the recall and what to do. They stated someone would contact me between 24 and 48 hours - it is 3/23/18 and no one has contacted me. I called the 800-831-1117 BMW customer service number and was on holding waiting for someone to pick up the phone for 63 minutes. I do not know what to do but I need your help please. - (recall related incident)

On Nov. 3,2017, BMW announced fire danger due to blower motor wiring and a PCV heater. Neither of these repairs sounds complicated (replace wiring) but five months later, BMW on their website continues to say a "remedy not yet available". this delays suggests that BMW is not prioritizing or taking these dangers seriously. NHTSA needs to encourage BMW to expedite this recall for the safety and peace of mind of BMW owners.

Received recall notifications (PCV valve and wiring for heating and air-conditioning) at the end of 2017. Have checked and rechecked with dealership to get the repairs. Finally called BMW usa and was told no parts available until late spring or early summer"?!! meanwhile, article in the la times said that repairs would begin in December, 2017 and quoted a BMW official as advising "park your car outside" (in case the thing just ignites by itself while parked"). --and for those of us who cannot do that" why do they say that customer safety is their #1 priority"! it is outrageous.

"BMW blower motor recall". on Saturday 1/13/2018. My car caught fire while it was parked at my office. 1 mountain rd suffield, ct. The fire dept. Responded after I called 911 to report the fire and that I could not get the unlock button to work from my key remote. The fire damage was from an electrical fire that started underneath the dash board on the passenger side. The "blower motor" caught fire and melted through the dash onto the rubber mat on the passenger side of the vehicle. The suffield fire dept has the official report. The vehicles rdc module that communicates to the TPMS gets wet and causes a complete electrical system failure. This module on is located under the passenger rear wheel splash shield on the outside of the vehicle and is exposed to elements. This is a poor design and location. Failure happened during vehicle operation and even when off and it causes complete loss of all safety function. It seems to be a common issue when researching online.
