3-times the car's engine was turned off by the computer while we were driving on the freeway and the streets. Car info says "fuel pump, service soon" and then the car won't start for an hour. First time we took it to beverly hills BMW center and they replace the fuel pump. Next day, fuel all over our garage. Took it back for them to secure it better.next morning we got gas all over the garage again. I had to secure the fuel pump. I'm not confident in the service at BMW centers but I really have a problem with the car turning off while your in the fast line on the freeway. We were almost hit by a truck the third time it stopped.

The contact owns a 2011 BMW 328I. The contact stated that the vehicle overheated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 17V676000 (electrical system), 13V044000 (electrical system), 17V683000 (engine and engine cooling), and 14V176000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the contact felt that the failure may be related to the recall campaigns. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Vehicle showed check engine light and was idling rough during commute. Engine shutoff/stalled while stopped at a stoplight. Was able to restart and return home, but idle remained rough. Attempted to drive to repair shop on another day, idle was rough upon engine start and check engine light remained on. Car again stalled at an intersection while stopped at a red light. Engine would not re-start and vehicle required a tow to get it to shop. Dealership service center explained that vanos bolts had sheared and is the exact issue described in BMW recall campaign vanos sib 14V-176. In spite of my vehicle matching the make, model, year, and engine type described in the recall, BMW informed me that my VIN was not showing any recall. It appears BMW of North America has either intentionally or through negligence omitted certain vehicle vins from the recall bulletin, even though they are subject to the malfunction specified (shearing of vanos bolts).

My vehicle was making a squealing noise, was louder when running but sitting still. Took it to a garage and valve cover gasket was leaking apparently. I know this happens to cars but my BMW is a 2011 with only 65500 miles at the time.. costed me 1000 dollars to fix and a month before this they did a recall on the PCV valve and had it tore apart. Maybe it was someone's mistake when reassembling the PCV valve heater during recall at BMW dealer at towne auto in williamsville near buffalo NY?? idk but that is low mileage for this to happen

My BMW 328I E93 has the service engine soon (ses) light come on while I was driving on the highway. The computer shows error code 2B3A (P1449 dmtl system fault). I cleared the code and it came back a week later. I tried replacing the gas cap and the error still comes back the same. I was doing further research and came across this article (attached) from NHTSA.gov describing the same exact problem, with the same exact code and even my engine is the same N52K for my E93 328I. Https://static.NHTSA.gov/ODI/tsbs/2012/sb-10051299-3508.pdf the dmtl pump is there to help reduce emissions and if the system is faulty, the BMW dealership should honor the request for service work to replace the dmtl pump under the emissions/extended emissions warranty. I called and they said there's no recall for this VIN so they can't help me...and they are making me pay for the diagnostic fee...but I do in fact have my emissions warranty still in effect for the VIN which is 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first. It seems that there needs to be an active recall for these faulty dmtl pumps/systems as this problem exists for engines like mine -the N52K engine. I encourage the NHTSA to take a look into this matter and work closely with BMW North America to institute a remedy for this. Thank you in advance and have a nice day.

I was on my way to my aunt's funeral when the car stalled in the left turn lane at a busy intersection in the city (denver; evans and university) and would not start again. I called triple a and a tow truck hauled away the car after being honked at for twenty minutes, with other driver's going around us by using the side of the road meant for driver's going in the opposite direction. The garage mechanic from auto station says that the problem is broken bolts on cam phaser; they found one bolt; three others are missing. We have to purchase a new engine at a cost of over $7,000.

Blower motor recall and PCV valve recall. Hello, I got a recall notification in the E-mail for the PCV valve and the blower motor. I had already taken my car into BMW previously to have my vehicle worked on by BMW and carmax for problems on these parts and relating parts because they were not working properly. I was wondering if you could please take a deeper dive into my issue. BMW has said they will only reimburse about $250 when I paid much more than that before for the parts directly affected and indirectly affected by faulty parts. I look forward to hearing back from you and appreciate all the help.

Before any prompts on the navigation screen ever came up, I would often sometimes smell something burning or giving off a hot rubber smell which I addressed as soon I purchased the vehicle from queens auto mall auction, they said it was nothing to worry about if I did not see the check engine light on. While I was driving my BMW 328 xi 2011 the car suddenly lost power and a fuel pump malfunction display prompted on my navigation screen. The car stopped on a bridge in the left lane without me being able to pull over. The car would not start up again at all after several attempts. I waited about 30 minutes and the car started up again. I drove it back home 5 min away and got my vehicle towed to the BMW of manhattan where they say they took care of the problem. Once I picked up the vehicle, I drove for approximately 25-30 minutes before the same exact thing happened again and I was barely able to switch into the right lane so I can pull over and have another tow come and take my car to BMW of manhattan just an hour after I had it serviced. I had the recall for the PCV valve heater replaced at that service so I know the same fire/rubber burning smell can't possibly be from that valve recall. I have seen online many people have the same problem with their 3 series, and I am concerned this may be an underlying issue with all 3 series BMW 2006-2011. In both of these separate instances I was driving and was very scared that I could have gotten into a serious car accident in New York city

Cam bolts need replacing and thousands have been recalled but neither BMW nor the local dealer can tell me why my car isn't covered. There are multiple service bulletins and recall notices that indicate the 3 series from 2010 to 2014 are covered; however, for some reason which can't be explained, my car is not covered.
