Intermittently it is not possible to open the doors from the inside of my vehicle using the door handle.. the door remains locked and will not open from the inside by pulling the door handle. The only known workaround is to find the "unlock all doors" button on the dashboard to unlock the doors and it's not clear that this is a viable solution for all cases. Here is a video of the issue: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=V7_ubsgjtqq this is a widespread issue for the F30 generation of BMW passenger cars (2011'2019). What I 'm trying to understand is: How is something this critical to safety (being able to exit the vehicle, especially in an emergency) not subject to a recall or a at the very least a tsb" I was told that this repair for my vehicle which is just outside of the factory warranty would cost over $1000. See the following search results from google for an idea for how widespread this issue is: Https://www.google.com/search"rlz=1C1ggrv_enus759us759&biw=1745&bih=807&sxsrf=acybgntjhyhicqsr6M1A49na0N40U5td0G%3A1569262080808&ei=aaqjxcxumir4sgx-P7_ybw&Q=F30+door+won%27T+unlock+site%3af30.bimmerpost.com&oq=F30+door+won%27T+unlock+site%3af30.bimmerpost.com&gs_L=psy-ab.3...215545.216457..216631...0.3..0.92.611.7......0....1..gws-wiz.......0I71.D3heqy0Q1_U&ved=0ahukewjf7ornxofkahukvkwkhf7td3sq4dudcas&uact=5

I was driving on I-91 at normal highway speed and the car suddenly started decelerating on its own with no warning lights or other indication of a problem. I pulled over immediately and shut the engine off and got out to investigate and saw smoke under the hood. I called 911 and the car was visibly on fire by the time they arrived.

Rear spoiler malfunction appeared on my screen while I was driving roughly 30 miles per hour, then the rear spoiler began to smoke within 60 seconds. I pulled the car over to park it, and after another 100 seconds, the spoiler caught fire and within 180 more seconds the whole rear of the car was on fire. By this time the fire department showed up and extinguished the flames.

Sun roof glass shattered while driving on smooth highway at about 65mph. No evidence of impact (per BMW dealer) and no impact by object detected by driver. No over passes or road signs were near the car at the time. Outside temperature in mid 80S and sunny. Air conditioning on in car. Large hole in middle of sunroof and most of the glass ended up on the highway behind the vehicle. Some glass was in the sunshade and came through the ventilation slots. BMW agreed to replace under warranty.
