The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence where an independent mechanic diagnosed that the fuel pump and starter failed and needed to be repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 110,000.
