My car hasn't start up for 2 years now. 1st it started with a dead starter, then alternator, then the radiator and water pump bursted, and as i was standing outside of my car the passenger air bag deploys while the car was off and key out of the ignition. Luckily no one was in my car but now my car doesn't and wont crank or turnover, it makes a buzzing noise for a split second when i hit the start/stop button and thats all. I'm getting full voltage to it. Every time i run my scanner, i get different codes every time, i bought a 2nd scanner (carly) to compare and both threw out different codes every time but the main ones was the starter and pcv code; which i got 3 different starters put in, all new and the code was still ahowing. Ive spent more time researching and more money buying parts to fix my car then what I bought the car for which was $6k. Worst part is that My car wont even start so i cant take it to the shop and im definitely not paying a toll fee just to have the shop tell me what i already know. Ive looked up forums and multiple people is facing the same issues as i am with their results ending with a "please help if anyone finds out what this issue is". I've replaced the battery 3 times and registered the batteries each time. I have a new starter, alternator, radiator, radiator fan, water pump, thermostat, reservoir, crankshaft and camshaft position sensor, battery, ibs cables, power distribution box, ground straps, oil filter, oil filter housing, spark plugs, coil packs, manifold and gaskets, pcv valves, start/stop switch, relays, fuses, and I still get the same results which is no crank/no start and a buzzing noise. When i spoke with BMW customer support i told them that the closest BMW repair shop is 2 hours away from me and the lady replied "that's going to be a huge chunk of money for towing". I mean seriously, BMW should be paying for or that and fixing their mess but won't own up to it.

The engine and all electrical components including power steering spontaneously cutout while driving, usually while engine isnt being stressed at all, sometimes while idling. If the car is rolling, i have to restart the engine while driving and using manual power to steer. Obviously, this is a huge safety problem. I've just had the alternator and battery replaced, and they test fine. This has happened at least 50 times and I've reduced time driving vehicle until I solve the issue, which has persisted at least 6 months. I asked the BMW dealer about the following recall, and they claim they already performed it years ago after I already owned the car, without my recalling being told it was done. However, the symptoms are back, and BMW refuses to do anything about it at this time: Report Receipt Date: FEB 07, 2013 NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V044000 Component(s): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Potential Number of Units Affected: 504,545 All Products Associated with this Recall Details 2 Associated Documents Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC SUMMARY: BMW is recalling 2007-2011 3-Series sedans manufactured March 2007 through October 2011. The connector for the positive battery cable connector and the corresponding terminal on the fuse box may degrade over time. Over time, the high current flow and heat from electrical resistance may lead to a breakage of the connection, and a loss of electrical power to the vehicle. CONSEQUENCE: If there is a loss of electrical power to the vehicle, the vehicle may unexpectedly stall, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the positive battery cable connector and secure it with an improved method, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in March 2013.

I am experiencing a know issue others have complained about related to the high pressure fuel injector failure in my vehicle. There have been previous recalls for this and my vehicle should fall within the recall dates and is showing all of the symptoms of this failure yet is it some how not part of the recall. What is happening is on cold starts or even idle the car is shaking and has a very apparent misfire, I have checked the spark plugs and they indeed have fuel on them. The injectors are causing excessive fuel in the cylinder this leads to a host of problems that are potentially, catastrophic like the engine seizing while driving due to oil dilution from the fuel

I write requesting that my vehicle 2008 BMW 335xi VIN number [xxx] be tagged/listed as needing the revised sib 13 01 20 -emissions recall campaign 10E-A02 issued by BMW on 01/17/2020. This revised 2020 BMW internal amended recall instructions require replacement of all original fuel injectors. It amends what was being done since the original recall sib 13 14 20 from the year 2011 which required only individual failing injectors be replaced. Back in 2011, the BMW service center that worked on my car, replaced two (2) failing injectors and removed the car from the recall list prematurely. That was wrong because fuel injectors are "individual" pieces of equipment, and my car needs six (6) of them. In the year 2013, BMW replaced three (3) fuel injectors in a different bank under warranty. Making it that was still one more original injector left (injector number #5) in the car. This remaining injector #5 in my car is an original injector and should still be subject to the recall. I called BMW usa asking for the updated 01/17/2020 recall be completed on my car and they denied my request stating they have properly completed the original recall back in 2011. I had them review the records which indicate that back in 2011 during the original recall sib 13 14 20 only fuel injectors 4 & 6 were replaced under the recall because injectors. Injector number 5 is still original and it is subject to the 01/17/2020 sib 13 01 20 -emissions recall campaign 10E-A02 issued by BMW. Currently, this fuel injector leaks fuel down into the cylinder head and creates pollution. I am attaching service records. I appreciate you taking the time to please look into this and have BMW do the right thing by replacing this old original injector they left behind back in 2011. Thank you in advance for looking into this. --- [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I was told by my mechanic my fuel injectors have gone bad and I believe this is from a manufacturer's issue. Please investigate as I know various people that have the same issue with the same engine, year and make. I took it to the shop after I turned it on to drive and the vehicle was shaking a bit more than normal, when I accelerated the car was very vaguely responding to me. This is why my vehicle began to misfire, because of the fuel injectors. I will keep all receipts until further notice of this issue.

01may2020. Brought 2008 BMW 335I to South atlanta BMW dealership to replace rear brake pads (based on inspection report from a jan2020 appt). It was determined that: 1. oil filter housing gasket: Filter housing gaskets & oil cooler O-rings leaking oil 2. radiator hose replacement. Upper coolant hose turning brown and seeping. 01may2020. Radiator hose was replaced along with conducting brake fluid flush and micro filter. Same day after repairs were complete the car stalls and shuts off and becomes unable to drive. Car is towed back to dealership for further inspection. Upon further inspection the following are identified: 1. fuel pump replacement: R&R high pressure fuel pump & low pressure sensor per fault code 29F2 2.turbocharger - variable boost control solenoid: Both vanos solenoids & oil change per sib. Dealership informs me that the fuel pump's warranty has been extended 10 years/120000 miles due to manufacturing issues with the fuel pump. I have never been made aware of issues with the fuel pump or extended warranties for replacing. I do think I should be responsible for repairs on a malfunctioning fuel pump that was poorly manufactured. BMW should be responsible for the replacement and repair.

The high pressure fuel pump which was recalled and replaced in 2011 is problematic again. When pushing the gas pedal harder, the car stutters and does not respond to the extra power requested by flooring the gas pedal and makes put me in a dangerous situation. The 'service engine soon' light came up as well. I pulled the car over when I could, stopped and started the engine again and the "service engine" light disappeared. This is the same issue back in 2011 and recurring again. I suspect this has been there for a long time, but as my wife does not punch the gas as hard as me, she noticed this only on few occasions. I noticed this twice in the last month and so, called the stealership and logging a complaint here. In 2011, they said BMW extended the warranty to 10 years and so, this should be covered now as well, but the stealership abviously would not acknowledge. Hope our great president trump show germany their place, and hope BMW pays for the terrible engineering till elon musk makes them go bankrupt.

I was driving and all of a sudden I could not steer, and the power was gone; it was barely moving; and the light came on saying to continue to drive with diminished speed. I was close to home on an access road; and was able to limp home. It was almost impossible to turn the steering wheel. I took it to global BMW in metro atlanta; and paid close to $3000 for repairs. Approximately a month later I had a problem again. The light came on and stated engine malfunction; reduced power, proceed with caution. In doing research this morning; I discovered that there was a recall on my vehicle for this exact problem. I did not know it; but global BMW had to know it. I called BMW recall and they claim that they are waiting on the parts. This recall has been in effect since 2010; so they must have the parts. Most of the lawsuits were settled out of court with a gag order; so it appears that BMW don't respond unless there is a formal complaint; and this is the reason for this complaint with your office. I will appreciate any assistance that you may provide.

While the car was travelling at a rate of about 45 mph, it did something I never experienced before. It started to shake, sputter and lose power while ascending a on a paved city street that had about a 20 degree uphill grade. The vehicle behind me didn't expect my sudden speed change and nearly rear ended me.. the engine icon appeared on the dash and I sputtered all the way home.

My car is experiencing the infamous hpfp failure. The code thrown is P2aaf (fuel pump plausability) and P29F2 (high-pressure fuel system, fuel pressure). When starting the car, the engine shakes, rumbles and almost dies, erratic idle...I have to rev up the engine for a few minutes to keep idle stable. The check engine light and ses light comes on. It has reduced power, I can not accelerate quickly any more. I see people behind me move over everytime I go from a stop. I took the car to BMW recently and they found $8,800 worth of repair cost on the vehicle. I was told the hpfp needs to be replaced but it is out of warranty since the car is 10 years old and past 120,000 miles. They would not replace it for free. I was also told that the pump was replaced a few times before. I think I am the second owner of the car. I purchased it in 2/2013. Roughly 3 years ago, the car's engine shutdown while I was in the middle of the highway. I was able to keep it going about 4 miles an hour and pulled over. I was told the low pressure fuel pump was replaced under cpo warranty to get the car working again. This car is a danger to me and my kids. I think the hpfp should be replaced free of charge if the symptoms exist, no matter if their warranty has expired.

This is for 2 NHTSA recalls issued 10/25/17 and 10/30/17 NHTSA recall number17V676 and NHTSA recall number17V683. It is now 3 months later and BMW of North America still has no remedy available! both recall statements caution that "over time" the part could deteriorate, leading to the car catching on fire. Since the car is 10 years old, I am concerned that the BMW definition of "over time" has been met, and therefore we are left with a non-driveable car due to their warnings. How long should one wait with no compensation, either mobility or financial?

Driving my car at 65mph the whole car shut down I had no control of the vehicle. Was barely able to power the steering wheel to the right and coast into a parking lot. Where I was still not in a safe place because my brakes had no response as well. Finally snatched up the ebrake and the car began to slow down. This is the second time this issue has occurred with me driving and I'm lucky to have my life after two horrific incidents like this. Also I have no air bag so if I wouldn't of been so lucky to not hit anything head on I would of not even had a airbag deploy. I was told by BMW my car shut down because of the water pump but when this was replaced after a $950 bill my car still doesn't work and now I'm being told by BMW now it will be another $500 to figure it out. I have not been able to drive my car free of concern for more than 6 months. As much as this car has shut down or stalled on me I don't feel it's safe for anyone to drive a vehicle like this. Got the car January 2015 and my warranty was used up within 1 year fixing the same parts repeatedly. No my car won't even start or run properly. This is after I go the water pump replaced like I was instructed by BMW. I didn't have enough to load that document but I have it available also.

My car began to run roughly after a cold start as I was leaving my office. After a few seconds and feeling decreased power, I tried to pull off the road and into a parking spot in the parking garage at microsoft's head quarters (where I work). The vehicle stalled out. I was able to restart the vehicle and get into a parking space, but it continue to run roughly. I noticed an intense smell of gasoline and immediately turned off the engine. I exited the vehicle and checked the exhaust. It was blowing white smoke and had gasoline dripping out of the tail pipes, I let the vehicle cool down and restarted the engine with another person observing the tail pipe. It again was running very rough and had gasoline spraying out of the tail pipe. I immediately turned off the engine. The car was towed to a service center. They have diagnosed the issue is that 2 of the injectors are stuck in the fully open position. As a result, the car is unsafe (I was lucky there wasn't a massive fire). Previously, I'd had the hpfp (high pressure fuel pump) replaced under recall. I am concerned that the recalled/replaced hpfp may itself be defective and failed, causing 2 injectors to fail simultaneously (there's statistically no chance of two injectors failing simultaneously without some causal factor upstream in the fuel system). On contacting BMW (in bellevue wa) and BMW North America, they have refused to cover the repair or acknowledge the issue. I am continuing to engage with them on the repair, but believe this is a more serious safety issue. Had I not pulled off when I did, the vehicle could have went up in flames while on the highway.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335I for about 4 years. Last month I was driving the car home after picking it up from dealer. I brought the car to the dealer because the crankshaft sensor failed and also went for the battery recall. Driving back from the dealer back to my apartment was about 30-40 minutes. So right when I pulled into the apartment parking lot, I noticed my trunk was smoking through my rear view mirror. I quickly tried to park somewhere empty, then I got out and I saw the rear end of the car was flaming up. It took less than 20 minutes, the entire car was covered with fire. Since the fire started from the rear, I am sure that's the battery wire connection that caused this. I am frustrated because I dd this car and only happen after the service from the dealer. Also why BMW design and position the freaking battery and wires behind the gas tank?

I've have had several issues involving the fuel pump/injectors. All service has been performed at the same dealer. The cost has exceeded $3500 in the last 3 years. Car is in the shop again, dealer indicates fuel injectors are the problem, another $1989 to get the car fix. I believe this is too much $ for the same issue for a 3 year period.
