I purchased a brand new 2012, 528 I X Series BMW. I just paid the vehicle off and 7 months later I am told the car needs a new engine. The vehicle warning light signaled a "Drive Train" error. I took the vehicle right into the dealer where I made the purchase. After $500 to evaluated the problem the dealer informed me the Engine needed to be replaced, the vehicle has 78k miles. I can not believe a BMW engine would only last 78K miles. I kept the vehicle very well maintained with regular oil changes and tune-ups.
The cost to repair the engine is over $12k plus the $500 evaluation to identify the problem. I will never purchase another BMW, even though it was my dream car. I am very up-set and dis-satisfied the one of the most expensive purchases I have ever made. The vehicle is out of warranty.
Please if anyone else has experience a similar problem with their BMW 528I please post your experience!
