BMW Canada tries to tell us the fact that recordings are corrupted on the outer band widths is a copy right issue! This is impossible. One could not even record a single line from a CD if this were the case. When the read head heats up ie after about 1/2 hour the outer tracks become garbled. This is extremely frustrating as we like to listen to books on cd when traveling. The problem also occurs with music on the outer bands/tracks. BMW tells we must use a thumb drive and prerecord our data on a pc first. This is a ridiculous work around. When the vehicle was being demonstrated to us we were advised there is only a single cd reader as everything can be transferred to the hard drive for easy listening. The listening is impossible. The vehicle has been in twice and still not repaired. The problem was detected on maiden trip and still bad.
