The oem wheel, 71414, is prone to cracking and breaking. I have repaired and replaced more than 4 wheels on this vehicle since it was purchased along with tires.

I purchased a 2011 BMW in September 2014. I have had 4 good year run flat tires with bubbles. I replaced two and when the next two formed bubbles I decided to replace them with another brand. I had Firestone give me the last two bubble tires so I would have evidence of the failure. The cost to me at this time is $ 1837.65

6 tires in less than a 3 year period have failed. Some have bubbled. Two have gone flat. One failed on the highway at 65mph. This seems to be a particular problem with the Goodyear runflat tires on the 19 inch rims on this vehicle. Small potholes are unavoidable on Massachusetts roadways. Some of the incidents occurred days after. Others were unassociated with such an incident. Both BMW and Goodyear refuse to acknowledge the problem.

Within the first month of owning the vehicle I had two bumps in the sidewall of my tires (Goodyear Eagle LS2 low profile run flat). Over the last 20 months of owning the vehicle I have replaced approximately 12 tires. I purchased this 5-series because I had such a good experience with my prior 5-series vehicle which was the prior design 2008 without these tires. I did not replace a single tire over the course of a three year lease with my prior vehicle. These tires must be defective in their design because they do not appear to be fit for use on this vehicle.

The Goodyear run flat tires on the vehicle continuously develop bubbles on the sidewall. I have had the tires replaced several times and BMW replaced because I had a tire/wheel package. Now that the tire/wheel package has expired I have been referred to Goodyear regarding this matter. I do feel that this is a Goodyear issue but also a BMW issue because they are installing a defected product on their vehicles. From my recent research I see there have been numerous complaints and the problem has yet to be rectified. These tires are unsafe and are a hazards. Will it take someone being killed before something is required of both BMW and Goodyear to correct this problem at their expense and not the consumers"??"

While driving my 2011 BMW 535I on the interstate, on a construction zone, at 11:00 pm, I hit a pot hole with my front driver side tire. Almost immediately noticed front end vibration. Pulled over, did not notice damage to the wheel/ tire and continued driving until arrived at home without tire pressure monitoring activation. Upon inspection of the front driver side tire, noticed an approximatelly a 3 inch long "bubble" on the side wall of the tire. Following Monday, brought the car to the good year shop for inspection after opening up a case via the 800 number with Goodyear. Upon inspection by the Goodyear mechanic, there was a large 3-4 inch tear in the inside layer of the sidewall. Unable to determine how many layers involved. Most likely that the outside layer not involved because tire maintened pressure at all times. Based on a web search, it appears that there have been multiple failures of the sidewall of these tires. Tire involved, Goodyear Eagle LS2 rof, dot NE66 jp1R 2011. When are you going to investigate the issue?

The automobile has the stock wheels/tires that came with the M535 xi (Goodyear Eagle ls runflats 245/40 R19). After receiving the vehicle back from BMW service, I noticed that the front right tire (inflated to 35 psi) has a bulge on the exterior sidewall.

I just ordered my 3rd replacement tire due to a bubble on the sidewall of my front tire. I encountered a pothole on I-90 (mass pike) at approx. 70mph between exits 3 and 2, felt the bump, and then and felt the familiar wobbling that I experienced the last time this happened. I knew before I even stopped at the rest area that I had another bubble incident. This is the 3rd time that I've had to replace a front tire due to a bubble in the sidewall. I have a Toyota sienna AWD with rof tires and this car encounters potholes without incident -- there must be something wrong with the goodyears to be prone to this sort of problem.

My 2011 BMW 550ix has Goodyear Eagle ls 2 run flats, 245/40. I took delivery of the car in July 2011 and had bubbles on the left front tire in less than a month period. I just noticed that I am not the only one with such problem and want to take my part in reporting this bubble problem with this run flat tires.

Driving at normal speed and use and Goodyear Eagle LS2 (245/40R19 98V) 19 inch runflat tires have repeatedly (4 times in less than 12 months) developed "bubbles" or blistering. A true nightmare to drive worrying on normal roads about this defect occuring for no reason at all especially with a 2-year old daughter in the car. Had car less than 1 year and have wasted much time and cost having to get this manufacturing defect repaired often/car towed. Please look into this failure in manufacturing before it costs someone their life.

While driving on an interstate I had a blowout of my left front tire, Goodyear 245/40 R 19 98vxl Eagle LS2. It is a run flat tire. After driving 40 miles, the tire disentegrated, and I need a tow truck to get me off the highway. After getting a new tire, less than one month later and less that 2000 miles on the "new tire" I noted a bubble in the side wall, that required me to get another new tire on 09/08/2011. There has to be some structural defect in the tire that BMW is putting on this car. There should be a recall of all these tires before crashes and deaths occur. I have notified BMW of this.

Original vehicle equipment on vehicles equipped with sport package or M-package; tire size: 245/40/19 failure of multiple tires manufactured by good year. Tire brand: LS2 run flat, all season tires. Two front tires formed "bubbles" on the outside; as a result vehicle vibrates at higher speeds. Defective tires also caused slight bends on two wheels (one front one rear). Vehicle always driven very carefully and on good surfaces. No significant impact on the tire has occurred.
