About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I recently contacted my local BMW of honolulu dealership (808) 597-1225, inquiring the recall NHTSA campaign number: 13V564000. I was informed solely based on my VIN number, I'm not eligible for repair, even though my airbag warning light is on. How can this be justified" my safety and my families safety is on the line, but because a number, I'm not covered" on top of this issue, I will be shipping my vehicle, but the local shipping company will not ship any vehicle that has warning lights on unless it can be verified by a certified mechanic that the car is safe to drive. Please advice me on what I can do.

2007 550I BMW sedan jerky transmission** the transmission would act erratic at anytime. The vehicle would lurch while at intersections and stop lights. The consumer also stated the turn signal indicators were hidden by the steering wheel. The consumer had to look down to see if they were flashing. The consumer brought the problem to the attention of the dealer who claimed that this was the way the vehicle was designed. The consumer was so disappointed with the way the vehicle performed that he traded it in after 5 weeks and 2800 miles. Updated
