The contact owns a 2006 BMW 750I. The contact stated that as soon as the vehicle was started, the SRS warning light illuminated. A message also displayed on the instrument panel indicating that the failure was with the front passenger's seat mat. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where the technician advised the contact that the passenger's seat mat would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. There was an investigation for the failure under NHTSA action number PE07045 (air bags:frontal:sensor/control module). The investigation was upgraded to an engineering analysis and had not resulted in a recall. The manufacturer was notified of the problem.
