As my wife and son were driving the passenger door just unlatched from latch and would not latch back, after some research, I found that there was a recall for the door latch issue on BMW 750 models built from 08/04 to 09/07 notice was 12V504 with that info in hand I called reeves BMW in tampa fla only to be told it was not a open campaign based on my VIN even though my vehicle was built 01/07 and has both cas and soft close doors just as recall notice noted, nothing in the May 2013 technical service bulletin states anything about certain VIN's just the production date's, this is a issue that should be addressed by this Agency with more vigor because it is more than a inconvenience but a [xxx] safety issue. Which is going to cause someone to lose there life. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Own a 2007 BMW 750li. I started having problems with my driver side door several weeks ago. My driver door would not shut. Yesterday, I was at the work, went back to my car, used the remote and the door opened. Got into my car and my door would not shut. I tried to use the automatic lock and it did not work. I used the key on the driver side and waited until I heard it catch, this reengaged my lock so I was able to close the door. Update comp code to latches/locks/linkages. Very dangerous not having the door lock. Need to be a general recall on this defect.
