About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
My 2007 BMW li just started throwing itself into park while driving causing a major abrupt stop jerking the car to a stop. The transmission fault error came on and I turned the car off and waited a minute and turned it back on and was able to continue. It did this one more time before reaching home. Then the following day attempting to drive it as soon as I put it in reverse it jumped back into park. I had it towed to the dealer as I had read that there was a recall for BMW's with the same symptoms. I have since read numerous complaints of other BMW same year and model having the same problem. The dealer just said it wasn't covered under a recall and the transmission needs to be replaced and the cars age isn't worth the value of replacing the transmission so I have the car parked in my garage and cannot drive it. BMW needs to step up and take responsibility. There are plenty of the same make, model, and year having the same issue.

It has been happening from 2009 which was not a big concern after I bought the veh.as of now the problem has worsened I happens when I am parking the ( parallel parking ) less then 10 miles per hour brake pedal become stiff when depress on it the car would not stop sometime I would bump the in front of me or behind me. The scary part is when I am effecting a broken U turn in a tight street, I would step on the beak to avoid hitting in front and back of me. The brake pedal would stiffen even if pushed all the way down to the floor. I purshased the car with 13000 miles and now the car has only 73000 miles I change my rotors on time brake pads on time once the car is going straight the brake works please, I don' T know what to do. Please let me if there is any recall on > I think this is my last BMW, no more.

BMW refuses to accomplish brake recall 10V446000. Stated campaign accomplished previously (several years ago) with another owner but very intermittent brake fail issue still remains, extreme hazard. Obviously wasn't preformed properly or issue still exists.

The contact owns a 2007 BMW 750li. The contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated and the brake pedal became hard to depress, which made it very hard to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the check valve of the brake vacuum pump leaked oil into the brake booster. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 10V446000 (service brakes, hydraulic). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 120,000.

As I was arriving to park my BMW I applied the brakes to put it into park but the brakes failed, in result the car drove threw the building. When the rear wheels reached the curbside/sidewalk, it stopped the car, causing the building to get damage. And I got a ticket for malfunction of brake but it is not my fault for the malfunction of the brakes because I just bought the car 3 months ago from a carmax dealer. And at that time the mileage was 46185. When I was checking online, and there is a lot of complains about the brakes in BMW. In one article it stated quote:"a check valve of the brake vacuum pump may leak a small amount of lubricating oil." It continued, ?over time this could result in the contamination of the brake booster. If this occurred, the power-assist braking could be affected." End quote.

I purchased my 2007 750I BMW in 11/2013. Shortly after I purchased it, I started having brake booster issues. The brake pad becomes hard to press and I have actually rolled in the middle of intersections because the car would not stop. I took my car in to BMW of dallas and was told that my brake booster was contaminated but my vehicles brake booster was "checked out" (not repaired) in 2011 and didn't have a problem "then" so BMW is not going to repair the recall now. I was told if I wanted the brake booster repaired I would have to pay for it and BMW is not responsible because in 2011 when it was "checked out" it was fine. I feel that BMW knows this is an issue and before I have an accident or kill myself they should honor the recall and "repair? my vehicles brake booster free of charge. GM is honoring recalls after issues caused deaths?..is BMW waiting for deaths to honor their recall??? that"S not good, not good at all!

Is there anything I can do to get BMW to honor this recall and have them repair it free of charge to me since it is an know issue"
