The contact owns a 2017 BMW X1. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was briefly stranded in the middle of the roadway, but the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the radiator fan was cycling on max, and the temperature gauge indicated that the engine was overheating. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the vehicle was extremely low on coolant. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2017 BMW X1. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the message -??Engine Overheated - Drive Moderately" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that there was no coolant in the reservoir. The vehicle was taken to the residence and the contact observed condensation underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the coolant housing was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
