The front section of the roof closed partially but the rear section was locked open. BMW used PLASTIC parts in this roof mechanism that deteriorated under the UV exposure resulting in this failure. This is not repairable. It requires a complete replacement of the mechanism. It is outrageous that they produced a vehicle with this sort of sub-standard parts. This is a VERY common complaint that is all over the internet....
