X3 280i Sport V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 97,000 miles

I put Bought my BMW x280i Sport 4cyl N20 engine with 68k miles for 15k. on 3/16/2022. Five months later I'm driving in a large city when suddenly my car stopped and locked up and would not turn on or move. I held up traffic in the enter lane downtown and could not move the car without a special tow Truck because the BMW locked itself up.

Took the car to the Dealership close by and four days later I receive a text message informing me that my timing. Chain flipped causing catastrophic engine failure and recommend an engine replacement asked me to to select the $20k engine they recommended and place it in the virtual shopping cart for purchase. Right! I spent 3 months to find a used engine for $13k. Still spent $13k and got car back filthy w/dead battery.

BMW really couldn't clean up the car after I spent $13k on a car. BMW knows has this problem and still are selling the same damn car make and model. I could have killed someone the way my car stopped downtown and locked up. Had it been just 3 minutes later I would have been on the freeway and would have caused a serious accident. I just want my money back. I'm afraid to e en drive my car with the new engine for feed it will happen Again. I paid a higher price for a good reliable quality car. BMW Stand behind your name and cars you manufacture and pay me back and take these cars off the road!! Please.
