brake failure brake failure brake failure

This will be my first post and I'll provide updates. I had my 2017 X3 for 9 months now, never really noticed anything other than it did not drive like my last 2011 X3. The brakes didn't feel as tight - can't think of another work. So yesterday, I was exiting a highway and traffic was heavy and slow on the off ramp. When the truck in front of me stopped, I hit the brakes feeling I had plenty of time to stop since I was going pretty slow, but NO I didn't stop, I ran right into the truck with scrunched my front end. Too slow for air bags, but a lot of external damage. I keep rethinking it in slow motion and I should have stopped or just bumped the truck. At this point I don't know what happened, I feel something was off. My car is going in for repair next week and I will have BMW check the brakes, but I don't expect much. All that being said, I've lost trust in my X3.
