After having numerous oil leaks during the time I have owned this truck that were repaired under the warranty there was no way I was paying for an additional oil leak that occurred a few months after the warranty expired. Having tried to get BMW to pay for an out of warranty repair before, I learned don't have the repair done elsewhere, take it to a BMW dealership have them diagnose the problem and then start your negotiating. This time around I complained about the numerous oil leaks my truck has experienced in the 3 years I have owned it and basically demanded they fix the now leaking valve cover gaskets. They agreed and I paid nothing. Word to the wise if you email BMW and they send you a BS reply, politely ask that your complaint be elevated...............it worked for me and I ended up personally speaking to someone.
