BMW went to North haven ct dealer for recalls such as passenger air bag however they didn't complete I am very upset as I have a teenager whom will be sitting in the front seat. I want to escalate

The auto is unsafe to drive the steering sensor keeps malfunctioning and puts car in limp mode. Happened 7 times in one day, car in limp mode does not have enough power to get out of traffic. Making a left turn in heavy traffic it malfunctioned and traffic behind me came extremely close to collision because car lost 99% of power. Car has active recalls very old now BMW says tey have no parts to repair. This car has 37,186 miles on it, making the operating cost over $2 a mile not including gasoline or maintainence. To reset malfuntioning sensor the battery is disconected to reboot the engine controlls reconected restart then turn hard left and then hard right, normal driving is resumed on this unit it only works untill you slow for traffic or to make a turn making the car and traffic around it extemely unsafe as the auto has sudden power loss. The recalls on auto are old and again BMW say no replacement parts. Phone messages to servicing dealer are unanswered and where I live ther is no dealer. My own search on the internet revealed all 5 series BMW have complaints of this malfunction. I am a cancer patient and using this vehicle to travel to treatments is going to kill me before the cancer. And maybe other innocent people too. I feel that BMW looking in to it is not enough action ntsb should take immediate action and BMW should be made liable for all repairs and responcible for the transportation of affected autos to a repair center as the autos are in fact unsafe to operate.

It was the night of independence day 2012, it had rained moderately hard earlier in the day. When I started my 2007 BMW X5 3.0si to drive home, I was greeted with a bunch of warnings and errors on both my instrument cluster and navigation display. The most major one read "electronic system malfunction: Take to nearest BMW center." The ABS light was also lit up. Since it was late at night, the dealership was closed and so I proceeded to try to drive home. On the drive home, I noticed that my A/C system shut itself off and that my turn signals were extremely laggy & at times, were not even turning on ' a real traffic hazard. Fortunately, I made it home, but turning the car off was tricky because each time, oddly, the lights inside the car and ambient lighting on different parts of the car were still lit even when I removed the keyfob and locked the car. Examples include the radio unit, the engine start button. The next morning, I took the car to the BMW dealership and they charged me $200+ just to perform diagnostics on the car. They ended up finding nothing and suggested that I pay more for them to take off the two front seats and inspect the wires under the carpet in the front of the car (I found out that this because they knew about NHTSA item #: 10032845 / service bulletin # sib-61-13-07). I declined because I did not want to spend any more money all for them to not be able to find anything again. As of July 28, 2012, the electrical issue still occurs after a moderate to heavy rainstorm. I believe (along with many BMW X5 owners with the same issue) that it has to do with a faulty drainage pipe relating to the panoramic moonroof, which allows for water to leak inside the car and screw up the car's wiring. Please do something. This is something BMW should be responsible for & repair at no cost. Why should I pay to resolve a design flaw that BMW made!??

The contact owns a 2007 BMW X5. While driving 2 mph downhill in inclement weather conditions, all of the tires locked up and the vehicle slid and drifted abnormally. The dealer stated that they were aware of the failure. The contact speculated that the failure could have resulted from a shutdown of the computer, which subsequently caused the traction control to fail. The cause of the failure has not been determined and the vehicle has not been repaired. He called the manufacturer and was forwarded to the dealer. The failure and current mileages were 15,020. Updated 03-30-09 the rear hatch was loose. Updated 04/01/09.
