Bad water pump at 43886 miles. BMW is recalling X5 from 2008 through 2011 but when I called customerelations@bmwusa.com they told me there is no recall on this vehicle. How can BMW calls their vehicles "ultimate driving mechanics" when water pump fails at 43886 miles which cost me $1318.29. Labor cost $803 for less than 1.5 hours work. BMW must acknowledge the water pump failure at low mileage.

2009 BMW X535D active fuel tank sensor not working

I stopped at a drive thru window and the vehicle shut off without warning. I couldn't get it started and the police tried to put in neutral to move it out of the way. No lights or anything indicated that something was wrong. I have only had the vehicle for 4 days.the airbag restraint light is on and waiting for the sensor. Not sure if this is a recall. It was towed to a shop and then it started when getting it off the tow truck. I don't trust driving it now because it can go out while I'm on the freeway or highway and cause a major accident. There are no reports because I was at a drive thru and just tried to get it out of the way. We had the latest recall done on 08/31/2018.

My truck BMW parking for more than 6 hours, fire without a known cause, remaining with total loss, I communicated via email with the BMW, after reviewing the internet and find the research done by you, and receiving the possible diagnostic of what happened "an overheating in the pcb valve that rusted and caused the truck to fire", and knowing the bells that are reaping to pick up the vehicles in the United States and Canada, but that they know should be extended to other countries, I put in I know the facts, receiving from them, exactly the BMW group Mexico, the answer that they had no responsibility for these events, because two years ago I did not maintain or wash the engine with them; facts that have nothing to do with the defect of the vehicle. Please ask for your help and collaboration, the incident occurred in cucuta, colombia. The police of my country made an inspection of the events, which resulted in the fact that there was nothing external that had caused the fire, which was the truck alone, which caught on and in very short terms was burned as a total loss. I really understand that this country has rules that can give me a protection, but the BMW is one, and the manufacturer must respond from any point of view, by vehicles that manufacture no matter where they are. Reviewing the models and years to which they are predicted to have this defect, is the X5 series, between the years of manufacture 2007 to 2011, and the truck of my property is X5 - 2009. This is the answer that the BMW invia "dear [xxx] : thank you for contacting the BMW group. Based on your email, we internally review the history of your BMW xdrive30I, VIN [xxx], with factory warranty expired in April 2011. We found a pair of keys reading, which shows lag in the required maintenance services according to factory specifications. I took my vehicle in to BMW service department because I was having problems with my vehicle dry starting (didn't want to start as if it was out of gas). Service guy informed me after he ran a diagnostic check that it was my battery. I was flabbergasted, because that didn't sound of a dead battery. I paid 460 (new battery and diagnostic check) and he assured he ran it again with the new battery and no codes was shown again. Before I even got into my vehicle the Transport guy notice a light on. Service guy checked it out and finds out rear light needs to be replaced, wait a few. Calls me in the back and says we have a big problem, the right tail light wiring harness has burnt and melted the socket and the whole assembly, which will now cost 380 to repair. My husband takes a look at the left side, and it's worst then the right side, which means both sides needs to be repaired. This is a huge safety issue because it could lead to a fire hazard and the owner would bot even know it. The service guy said he ran a check before and after the replacement of the new battery all within 24hrs, and it didn't it catch this huge safety issue that has been going on in my vehicle, which is naked to the eye unless someone opens up those departments and look with a flash light. Please be aware and lets get this resolved.
